In the third quarter of 2023, Nigeria's communication app market saw dynamic trends among the top 5 applications on a unified platform, based on data from Sensor Tower. Here's a closer look at the performance of WhatsApp Messenger, WhatsApp Business, Opera Mini: Fast Web Browser, Telegram, and Snapchat.

WhatsApp Messenger experienced significant fluctuations in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 400K in the week of July 24 and showing a notable decline to around 209K by mid-September. The app maintained a robust user base, with weekly active users fluctuating between 43.4M and 44.3M throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Business saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching a high of around 278K in the last week of September. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, starting at 2.67M at the end of June and rising to approximately 2.81M by the end of September.

Opera Mini: Fast Web Browser had a consistent performance in weekly downloads, with a peak of about 109K in mid-September. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 2.07M and 2.38M.
